Haven't been around on the internet for quite some time due to an addition to the family and her keeping myself and my wife busy, but, wanted to do this when I found time and being as it's Derek B's birthday today, I thought it was fitting.
Put quite simply, I couldn't believe it when I found out about Derek B's death, he was a big inspiration for me when I was young, seeing him on Top Of The Pops and some 80's Saturday morning TV show (can't remember the name). I know he was looked over quite a lot by the hardcore heads, but, most people who were into UK hip hop back in the day appreciate what he did and had/have a lot of love for him.
'Bad Young Brother' will always be a classic to me, the scratch introduction has been sampled so many times and will always be iconic.
I'm not gonna say much more, just that, on your birthday and for the next four weeks, Derek Boland, the heroesofukhiphop.com domain name will be dedicated to you, may you rest in peace and thank you for what you did.
